Trailer for ’57 Seconds’ Released, Blockbuster Filmed in Lafayette Starring Josh Hutcherson & Morgan Freeman
Remember back in 2022 when Morgan Freeman was in Lafayette filming a movie and all the town was abuzz at sightings of the legend?
Well, that movie is only weeks away from premiering in movie theaters and the trailer for it has been released.
The blockbuster is called "57 Seconds" and it's a science fiction starring the aforementioned Freeman and Josh Hutcherson.
The Rusty Cundieff-directed movie is based on the short story Lucifer by E.C. Tubb.
The movie also stars Greg Germann, Lovie Simone, Bevin Bru, and Sammi Rotibi.
An interesting tidbit is that Morgan Freeman reportedly had a hand in writing parts of the script.
Here is a synopsis of the film, which will hit theaters nationwide on September 29:
When a tech blogger discovers a time-altering device, he unleashes its power to rewrite the past and seek revenge against the ruthless corporate empire that destroyed his family. But his actions soon trigger a terrifying chain of events, propelling him into a pulse-pounding battle for survival where every second counts.
Now about that trailer for the movie that was just released. I've watched it and can definitely pick out a couple of Lafayette landmarks including the Cajundome and the Lafayette Regional Airport.
I'm pretty sure there are a few more that you can pick out. See for yourself (and feel free to share with us other locations or landmarks that you notice.)
"57 Seconds" had a budget of $8.3 million. It will be interesting to see how well it does at the box office.
Just as a heads up, the movie is Rated R (Violence and Language) while the runtime is a relatively short one hour and 39 minutes.
