Defense Receives Cell Phone Data in Madison Brooks Case
The East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office has fulfilled an order to provide cell phone data to the defense, as confirmed by defense attorney Joseph Long. Long, who represents Casen Carver, stated that he received the data on Thursday morning, January 4, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing legal proceedings.
WAFB reported that the court had previously mandated the submission of this evidence to the defense however, due to its volume, Long admitted he has not yet had the opportunity to thoroughly examine its contents. This data holds significant importance in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the alleged rape of Madison Brooks.

The case revolves around the indictment of Casen Carver, a 19-year-old from Denham Springs, who was allegedly involved in the rape of Madison Brooks. The incident reportedly took place in early May 2023, following which investigators assert that Brooks tragically succumbed to a fatal collision with a vehicle in Baton Rouge on January 15, 2023.
With the data now in the possession of the defense, it marks a significant step forward in the legal process, offering the defense team an opportunity to delve deeper into the evidence and further prepare their case. Hopefully, the information retrieved from the cellphone data can help piece together a better picture of what took place that night.
As the defense studies the new information, the Madison Brooks case remains a focal point in the community. Family and friends on both sides are eager to know what the data might reveal about what happened to Madison and the accusations against Casen Carver.
