By now you have probably heard the news, gumbo weather is on the way to Louisiana. Or so we thought. As much as we want to be excited and start getting our sweaters ready something tells us this might be too good to be true. Believe me, we desperately want this Louisiana summer to be far behind us but now all eyes are on Chief Meteorologist Rob Perillo after a Facebook post he made.

Leave it to Louisiana to have the first-ever weather wars. Rob Perillo is one of the most trusted meteorologists in Acadiana. We have braved some of the toughest storms from the comfort of our couch while he provided live updates on our TV. He is calling this "false cool front" a bad case of "wish-casting".

Now I know no one in Louisiana wants to face the harsh reality that it was all too good to be true. Could this cool front be a hoax? Did Carlee Russel see a toddler on the side of the highway? Rob Perillo has thrown the gauntlet down, and the weather wars have officially begun. Now we just have to wait and see if it comes true.

We won't judge you if you start prepping your gumbo just in case. Will Rob Perillo get to say those four magic words "I told you so"? Only time will tell, so get comfortable because the results of the first-ever weather wars is more anticipated than seeing who wins the Super Bowl.

After all, isn't it better to expect the worst, in this case sweating to death for another few weeks, than get your hopes up? Fingers crossed. Just this once we hope Rob Perillo is wrong, even though he rarely is.
