Flood watches have been posted for much of Louisiana this morning as a storm system bringing a threat of prolonged heavy rain moves into the state.

Much of South Louisiana could experience heavy downpours and strong to severe thunderstorms today. Here's the projected time when the worst of the weather will be moving through.

Today will be warm and breezy but should be quite bumpy with strong storms possible in the overnight hours.

The local TV icon is being recognized for his years of service to the Acadiana and Gulf Coast regions.

The space experts out there are saying that Acadiana will get a good view of the International Space Station as it passes over this evening.

The heavy rain won't fall all the time but it will continue to fall some of the time for the next few days.
