The closure came as a shock to many, with Zoe Petijean being among the first to bring the news to the Lafayette community's attention. She shared a photo of the closure sign on the Foodies of Lafayette Facebook Group. The sign conveyed a message of hope, assuring patrons that it was not a goodbye but a "see you soon." It further revealed that the closure was part of a transition involving a change in ownership, a refurbishment, and new management. The sign read, "We promise to amaze and excite you. It will be worth the wait! See you soon!"

Introducing Tsubaki by Koi

Now, the wait is over, and the restaurant has made its comeback with a fresh start. Under new management and a new name, Tsubaki by Koi, the restaurant has undergone a transformation. Not only has the management changed, but the menu has also been updated to offer an even more exciting array of Japanese cuisine.

One of the notable additions to their offerings is the introduction of Hibachi at lunch, giving patrons an opportunity to enjoy the sizzling and savory experience that hibachi cooking provides. Additionally, Tsubaki by Koi has introduced a happy hour special from Monday to Thursday, running from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, allowing guests to unwind and enjoy their favorite dishes and drinks at a special price. On weekends, the restaurant is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
