Some 35 employees of Jefferson Davis Parish will be getting a pay raise after a vote of police jurors this week.

Police Jury finance committee chairman John Marceaux says the 3 percent pay raise for more than two dozen parish employees was unanimously approved by police jury members Wednesday.

Marceaux says the 35 office, courthouse and road workers who have been employed more than two years are going to get the raise.

Money to pay for the pay raises will come from three sources:

  • Parish road funds
  • Courthouse funds
  • General fund budget

It has been a little over two years since employees have received a pay bump.  Their last raise was 3 percent, and it was approved by the policy jury in March of 2011.
