THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — A golf pro at a Thibodaux country club has been arrested on suspicion of stealing from his employer.

A statement Monday by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office says 35-year-old James Schilling, of Houma, was arrested last week and charged with one count of theft. He was released on $1,000 bond.

The sheriff's office says Schilling has been the golf pro at Bayou Country Club since 2002 and taught golf at Nicholls State University for around 13 years.

Schilling is accused of stealing more than $6,400 from the pro shop over roughly three years.
