La. Man Pleads Guilty In Storm Aid Fraud
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A Ponchatoula man has pleaded guilty to defrauding the American Red Cross of more than $13,000 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Federal prosecutors say 44-year-old Juan Owens pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court in New Orleans after being charged with one count of mail fraud.
Owens will be sentenced on March 2.
