Lafayette General Medical Center, University Medical Center To Announce Partnership

LAFAYETTTE, La. (KPEL) -- The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals is expected to announce a partnership between Lafayette General Medical Center and University Medical Center in which LGMC will manage UMC starting in 2013.

According to Daryl Cetnar with LGMC, the two hospitals entered into a non-binding letter of intent on October 9, 2012.

That agreement is believed to be an understanding where LGMC will "begin a working relationship to manage UMC on July 1, 2013.

More details are expected to be revealed at a press conference Monday afternoon.
