Louisiana State Police: Lafayette Man Arrested in Online Child Exploitation Sting
A Lafayette man is facing serious charges after a joint investigation led by Louisiana State Police and the FBI uncovered online behavior involving the solicitation of minors.
50-year-old Joseph Dore of Lafayette was arrested on March 20, 2025, following a month-long operation focused on identifying individuals engaging in indecent behavior with juveniles online. Authorities say Dore, along with 29-year-old John Jones of Arkansas, was found to have engaged in explicit online activity targeting minors.
The arrests were part of a coordinated effort by the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit and the FBI to combat child exploitation across state lines. Dore and Jones were both booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and face charges under Louisiana law for Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor (LA R.S. 14:81.3) and Indecent Behavior with Juveniles (LA R.S. 14:81).
Officials say the investigation remains active, and more information may be released as the case develops. The Louisiana State Police emphasized the ongoing threat posed by online predators and the importance of public awareness and reporting.
Anyone with information about suspected child exploitation is encouraged to report it anonymously through the Louisiana State Analytical & Fusion Exchange (LA-SAFE) website at la-safe.org by clicking the “Suspicious Activity” link.
