ICE Employee Charged With Entering Ex-girlfriend's Apartment

(St Tammany Parish) - An ICE officer was arrested in South Louisiana on Friday, August 21, after he allegedly entered an ex-girlfriend's apartment.

KNOE reports that Thomas Bailey, 58, of Lecompte, was arrested by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office after he entered the apartment without consent.

He was charged on one count of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

Officials say that Bailey is employed at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Oakdale, Louisiana.

According to the news report, Bailey's ex-girlfriend was not present when he allegedly entered the apartment. The arresting agency released no further information about the case.

Sheriff Bret Ibert said they take unauthorized entries seriously and investigate each incident thoroughly. He added that no person is above the law, regardless of their employment in law enforcement.

Punishment for Unauthorized Entry

The Louisiana Legislature states that if someone is found guilty of entering a home without permission, they could face up to a $1000 fine and up to six years of imprisonment, with or without hard labor, or both.
