St. Martin Deputies Make Cocaine Discovery During Traffic Stop

(KPEL News) - Officials with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office say a man stopped during a traffic stop on Rees Street in Breaux Bridge was arrested on drug charges.

Around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, deputies conducted a traffic stop and pulled over 41-year-old Terrance Woods after witnessing the man commit a violation while driving on Rees Street.

What St. Martin Deputies Recovered During Traffic Stop in Breaux Bridge

As deputies began to search the vehicle, they recovered 175 grams of cocaine along with some Percocet.

Breaux Bridge Drug Traffic Stop Suspect Is Facing Three Charges

Woods was then arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail on the following charges:

• La. R.S. 40:967A – Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II CDS
• La. R.S. 40:967C – Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
• La. R.S. 32:104 – Turning Movements and Required Signals

Sheriff Becket Breaux says his office will continue to work to keep drugs off the streets of St. Martin Parish.
