Lafayette Police Investigating Simple Robbery Of Jefferson Street Convenience Store

LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Police in Lafayette are investigating the simple robbery of a business on Jefferson Street.

The suspect was captured on surveillance video walking into the convenience store and purchasing a pack of cigars, according to Lafayette Crime Stoppers.

When the employee opened the register, the suspect reached into the drawer and fled the building with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a male about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and weighing around 150 to 170 pounds. He had a medium complexion and a full beard. His pants were also tucked into his socks.
