LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — People who want to open sexually oriented businesses in Lake Charles will have to do so in industrial areas.

The American Press reports the Lake Charles City Council voted seven-zero Wednesday to amend a city law that outlines where such businesses are allowed in order to minimize juveniles' exposure to adult materials.

Officials in the city's planning and zoning department identified property near Chennault International Airport and the Port of Lake Charles and a small area near Interstate 10 as being zoned industrial. The rule doesn't apply to existing adult stores.
