Land Donation Sought For Community College In St. Martinville

The South Louisiana Community College is hoping that they can find a land owner who would be willing to donate 9 acres in St. Martin Parish because they are hoping to build a new facility to replace their Evangeline campus in St. Martinville.

Natalie Harder, the Chancellor at the South Louisiana Community College, says the original plan was to construct a new facility across the street from the existing campus, but change their minds after hearing from architects.

Harder says their will be some minimum requirements needed for the property they wish to acquire.  It needs to be 9 contiguous acres, offer access to main thoroughfares and have plenty of utility infrastructure.

Anyone interested in donating land needs to contact SLCC by Tuesday, and all final proposals must be submitted by October 8th.
