On today’s “Lafayette Live,” KPEL’s Bernadette Lee spoke with Lafayette City-Parish Council Chairman Jay Castille about that issue. The ordinance to create the position was introduced at Tuesday's meeting. Castille discussed how the idea has been mentioned and thought about over the years and how he believes current interim Lafayette Police Chief Reginald Thomas would be able to fill the job, if it were created.
