Les Miles Strongly Worded Comments Toward Ed Orgeron
The transition from one coach to another isn't always a smooth one and I think a lot of LSU Tiger fans have a soft spot in their heart for Les Miles after delivering a National Championship.
With that being said when the new coach comes out preaching patience and the old guy undermines his comments it doesn't look good. This was the case between Miles and Ed Orgeron who's beginning his second season at the helm this year.
So here's how it went down, as LSU is gearing up for their latest spring game, Coach O issued a statement to Tiger Nation: be patient, good things are coming.
Now, Les Miles doesn't seem to agree with that notion when he joined The Josh Innes Show on Sports Talk 790 in Houston this week:
“I guess what I’m saying is that I never accepted the feeling of ‘Hey, you need to have patience.’ When you say that you need to have patience, aren’t you really just saying to your team that you’re not good enough? Because I want you to know something. I never took the field with the Tigers where I didn’t think that I was absolutely going to kick somebody’s tail — and that we were the best team. Period. I don’t give a sh*t.”
He wasn't done there, he also offered this sentiment to the current coach of the LSU Football Program:
“Certain people need to have a safety net. If you need a safety net, you need not coach for the Tigers! The Tigers are the safety net,” Miles continued. “They are the winningest, toughest, most committed group of men I’ve ever been around.”
Strong words from the former head man over there at LSU. How do you feel?
Do you side with Coach O, that maybe we need to have some patience with this group? They say patience is a virtue, no?
Or, do you side with Les Miles and think that this team should be going full boar and full of confidence?
