Here Is A List Of The Stores That Will Be Closing On Thanksgiving Day 2017
Many stores are making early announcements about their plans to remain closed during the Thanksgiving holiday.
As Black Friday sales seem to begin earlier and earlier every year, many retailers have started to receive backlash from the public as well as their employees for opening on Thanksgiving Day.
Working holiday hours isn't out of the norm for some jobs, but the idea of pushing for every dollar at the mercy of employees spending time with their families has shed a negative light on some retail outlets.
According to Best Black Friday, nearly 60 stores have made early announcements that they will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day. So far, the list of regional and national stores include:
- A.C. Moore
- Abt Electronics
- Academy Sports + Outdoors
- At Home
- BJ’s Wholesale Club
- Blain’s Farm and Fleet
- Burlington
- Cabela’s
- Cost Plus World Market
- Costco
- Craft Warehouse
- Crate and Barrel
- DSW – Designer Shoe Warehouse
- Ethan Allen
- Gardner-White Furniture

I applaud these stores for remaining closed for employees to enjoy time with their families, especially since the hectic Black Friday sales will make the beginning of a hectic holiday season.
