LITE To Show Discovery Series Feat. UL-Lafayette Prof, Students

Dr. Chris Carroll, assistant professor of civil engineering at UL Lafayette, recently challenged a team of his students: Could they raise a 5,300 pound block of stone the way the ancient Romans did?The secret is a human-size hamster wheel that’s attached to a giant wooden construction crane. The project is part of a series for the Discovery Channel called Engineering the Impossible. A preview of the series will be shown Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at LITE. Carroll and his students will be in attendance.
