Louisiana Department Of Education Competes To Increase Funds

Louisiana is trying once again this year to get a share of millions of dollars in the Race to the Top competition.

$200 million is awarded by federal officials to help states increase access to quality education for low-income and disadvantaged children. Department of Education spokeswoman Rene Greer says the department will participate in the third round of the competition.
