NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A visit to a charter school and a speech to education writers are part of a full day of activities in New Orleans scheduled for U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Duncan is scheduled Friday to take part in a panel discussion on a Department of Education grant program at the KIPP Believe College Prep School in New Orleans. Next on the schedule: a keynote speech about the No Child Left Behind Act to the Education Writers Association National Seminar. Later, Duncan is also scheduled to take part in a "town hall" meeting at Loyola University, where he is to discuss the Obama Administration's effort to encourage young people to go into the teaching profession
