Louisiana Set to Receive Largest Shipment Of Coronavirus Vaccines to Date This Week
This is a big week for vaccinations in Louisiana.
According to The Advocate, nearly 98,000 doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are on their way to the boot state and that doesn't even count the newly approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine that received emergency authorization over the weekend.
State Health Officer Dr. Joe Kanter told The Advocate that number is the "highest allocation of vaccine doses for Louisiana" since December 2020 when they began to roll out.
Add around 38,000 to that number if the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccines head to Louisiana as expected.
In addition to the record number of vaccines slated to arrive, Louisiana is also adding 50 new coronavirus vaccine providers to the list.
Check out who they are as well as who is currently eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine here.
