Louisiana Man Flees Courtroom After Learning He Had Warrants, Then Beats Homeowner in Nearby Neighborhood

A 17-year-old is on the run following a wild chain of events that started in a downtown Baton Rouge courthouse on Wednesday, July 24.

Baton Rouge Police said Kendrick Miller caused a police search across the downtown area when he ran away from the 19th Judicial Courthouse yesterday afternoon after learning he had active warrants.

After fleeing the courthouse, Miller forced his way into a home in the 200 block of Maximillian Street and beat the homeowner, authorities said. He allegedly armed himself with a weapon and left the home on foot in an unknown direction.

Security camera footage from a neighborhood near the courthouse shows the man hopping a fence.

Unfortunately for police, Miller's current whereabouts are unknown.

Court records show that Miller was before District Judge Louise Hines for felony probation review on a simple robbery charge.

A law enforcement officer from St. Gabriel appeared before the judge to present an arrest warrant for Miller.

Kendrick Miller is now wanted on numerous charges including home invasion, simple battery, false imprisonment, offender armed with a dangerous weapon, and aggravated assault.
