A Baton Rouge man who was last seen a week and a half ago was found dead and decomposing in his home on Saturday evening.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the man has been identified as 33-year-old Collin Johnson.

BRPD said that Johnson was found dead inside a home in the 2900 block of Voss Drive near Frey Street around 9:43 pm on Saturday, May 18.

Johnson was last seen on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

Officers were called out to the home for a welfare check. Johnson's body was decomposing when it was found.

The case is being investigated as a homicide. Investigators said there was trauma to the victim's torso.

However, the cause of the death is unknown at this time. Autopsy results are pending.
