Louisiana State Police Arrest City Marshal Liaison on Sexual Battery Charges
Officials with Louisiana State Police have reported the arrest of a City Marshal Community Liaison for the Opelousas City Marshal’s Elderly Awareness Program, where allegations were lodged against the man for sexual battery.
Louisiana State Police Spokeswoman Peggy Bourque reports that Opelousas City Marshal Community Liaison Gerald Green of Opelousas was arrested on charges of sexual battery.
Bourque says an investigation began in early December after complaints were made against Green by someone who reported a situation in March of this year. The victim says what happened on or around March 27 happened in the workplace. No specific details are being given about the allegations; however, the charges are as follows:
LRS 14:43.1.1 Misdemeanor Sexual Battery
Investigators with the Louisiana State Police Criminal Division were requested to look into the allegations against Green, and he was booked into the St. Landry Parish Correctional Center on Tuesday, December 10.
Bourque reminds anyone who might have information about this situation or any other situation involving alleged sexual misconduct to contact them. Whether you know something about any crime, you are asked to submit the information anonymously by going to http://la-safe.org/ and then clicking on the tab labeled "Suspicious Activity".
