Man Sentenced For Having Sex With 13-year-old Runaway

GONZALES, La. (AP) — A 26-year-old Gonzales man has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old runaway.

Prosecutors in Ascension Parish said sheriff's deputies pulled over Noel Williams Jr.'s car after the young girl was reported on Oct. 27 as having left a Donaldsonville home in a dark colored, four-door sedan. The girl was found in Williams' car.

Prosecutors told The Advocate sheriff's investigators later learned that Williams had sex with the girl.

Williams, who had been set for trial Tuesday, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of carnal knowledge of juvenile.
