NEW ORLEANS (AP) — One of the two New Orleans police officers charged with burning a police shooting victim's body after Hurricane Katrina says he was shocked when his colleague set the fire.

Lt. Dwayne Scheuermann testified Tuesday that a superior officer told him and Officer Gregory McRae to drive the body of 31-year-old Henry Glover away from a makeshift police headquarters for "health reasons."

But Scheuermann said he didn't know McRae planned to torch a car while Glover's body was in the back seat. McRae has admitted burning the car and body and said he didn't tell anyone about his plan.

Five current or former officers are on trial in federal court. A former officer, David Warren, is charged with shooting Glover without justification. Two others are charged with obstructing the federal probe.
