, is pressing America's armed services to consume as much Gulf Seafood as possible. Mabus met with the executive director of the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, Ewell Smith. Smith met with Mabus as a representative of the Gulf Coast Ready 4 Takeoff Coalition. He said that Mabus is in favor of federal agencies buying domestic seafood for things like the military, prison systems, hospitals and school systems. Smith says the Seafood Promotion Board is gearing up for a large scale national marketing campaign with the help of 30-million dollars in BP money to reassure restaurants and markets across the country that Gulf seafood is safe.
