New Iberia Man Charged With Aggravated Rape Of Child Under One

The 32 year old New Iberia man currently in jail as a result of a State Police investigation is facing an additional charge today.

The investigating detectives have discovered that Austin Gulledge allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of one.

Louisiana State Police Troop I Spokesman Stephen Hammons says based on the new information, an aggravated rape warrant was obtained for Gulledge's arrest.

Detectives served Gulledge with the warrant at the Iberia Parish Jail where he remains incarcerated.

If convicted of aggravated rape, Gulledge could be sentenced to life in prison or face capital punishment.

Last week, State Police arrested Gulledge for allegedly creating child pornography.

Troopers say they were tipped off last week that Gulledge was in possession of child porn.

Police got a search warrant to search his home and found more than 200 images and more than 20 videos depicting child porn.

Gulledge was taken into custody and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on a slew of child porn charges.
