New Interim Secretary For Louisiana Department Of Revenue
The resignation of Secretary Cynthia Bridges came into light last week after she allegedly she expanded a tax break without telling the governor and now a replacement has been found.
Jane Smith will be serving as Interim Secretary starting today.She has been with the LDR since January of this year. She served as a Louisiana House member before joining the LDR. She was also a school superintendent.
Governor Bobby Jindal said in a prepared statement,
We appreciate Cynthia’s service and wish her well. We’re excited to have Jane serve as Interim Secretary. We look forward to working with her to implement pro-growth tax policies that will help our economy continue to grow.”
Smith has some large shoes to fill as her predecessor was in the position for 12 years.
