UPDATE: Louisiana Road Closures

UPDATE 5 p.m. : Lafayette Consolidated Government will resume regular business hours on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 8 a.m. and the departments of LCG will be operational.

Due to poor road conditions, the intersection of University Avenue and Johnston Street and the Louisiana Avenue Bridge near the Target/Academy Shopping Center at I-10 have been closed. These closures will remain through Thursday morning until Lafayette Police Department deems these parts of the roads passable. Motorists should avoid these areas, exercise patience and allow additional time to get to their destinations. Local law enforcement will continue to monitor road conditions and drivers should watch for signs or barricades which indicate closed and/or hazardous roads ahead.

With uncertain road conditions in the early morning hours, Lafayette Transit System (LTS) routes will not begin until 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018, including Fixed Route Service and Para-transit Services. LTS apologizes for any convenience the late start causes.

UPDATE 4:45 p.m. -- The City of Scott will have two roads that will be closed all night due to ice remaining on the roadways. Cameron St. , US Hwy 90, will be closed in the 6200 Block between Cayret St. and Apollo Rd. and L. Provost Rd will be closed between Provost Rd and Fenetre Rd. These roads will remained closed all night and will be reassessed after 7 a.m. in the morning. Please use alternate routes to avoid these areas.

UPDATE: I-10 east and west from the Williams Blvd. exit in Kenner through Lafayette will remain closed through the night. Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) officials will re-evaluate the roadway conditions tomorrow.
