I-10 Exit/Entrance Ramp to Close for Improvements in Lafayette
(Lafayette, Louisiana) - If you will be hitting the highway this week, you will want to note the following closure information from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
I-10 Eastbound exit ramp and on ramp at Exit 101 (LA 182 - University Avenue) will be closed on the following nights:
• Wednesday, June 26 at 8:00 p.m. until Thursday, June 27 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.
• Thursday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m. until Friday, June 28 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.
• Sunday, June 30 at 8:00 p.m. until Monday, July 1 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.
The ramp closures are necessary to allow crews to perform milling and paving operations for the I-10 ramp.
Motorists traveling on I-10 EB will only be able to access LA 182 (University Avenue) via the posted detour route, which includes continuing eastbound on I-10 to Exit 103B (I-49/US 90 - Opelousas), continuing onto I-49 Exit 1B (I-10 West - Lake Charles), then take I-10 Westbound to Exit 101 (LA 182 - University Avenue).
Motorists traveling on LA 182 (University Avenue) will only be able to access I-10 Eastbound via the posted detour route, which includes taking I-10 Westbound to Exit 100 (US 167/LA 3184 - Ambassador Caffery Parkway), turning south on US 167/LA 3184, then take I-10 Eastbound.
Emergency vehicles will not have access to the entrance and exit ramps at Exit 101 (LA 182 - University Avenue).
Detour routes will be posted during the ramp closure periods.
There will be no vehicle width restrictions with this work.
