Officals are blaming the BP oil spill and the resulting six-month moratorium for falling property value assessments in Iberia Parish. Assessor Ricky Huval told the Iberia Parish School Board that property values fell 10.7 million dollars, costing the school district  150-thousand dollars in tax revenue. Huval says oilfield business activity has fallen significantly in the parish.
