Pair Arrested In String Of Jeff Davis Parish Burglaries
A 23-year-old Welsh man and an 18-year-old man from Jennings have been arrested and charged in connection with several reported burglaries in Jeff Davis Parish. Deputies with the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's office say Dominick James Sittig and Kenneth Trevor Lee were taken into to custody following a traffic stop in Lake Arthur.
During that stop officers reportedly uncovered several stolen items. These items are what helped link the pair to the reported robberies. Law enforcement officials say the stolen items allegedly came from vehicles that were parked at the Jennings location of National Oilwell Varco on June 17th.
Deputies also noted that during the traffic stop in which the pair was taken into custody, one of the suspects was apparently wearing the same or a similar shirt to one noted in surveillance video from one of the crimes.
Both men are being held on charges of simple burglary, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass. They are each facing four counts on each charge. Sittig and Lee are currently incarcerated at the Jeff Davis Parish Jail. There has been no bond set for either of the two men.
