Wednesday afternoon, President Obama delivered his much anticipated response to the national gun control discussion that has been raging since the tragic school shooting just a few weeks ago in Connecticut.

The President laid out 23 "executive actions" while calling for congress to put a ban on semi-automatic assault weapons and as well as more extensive background checks for gun buyers.

Surrounded by children, including relatives of the 20 children who died at Sandy Hook, the President signed the orders saying, “This is our first task as a society, keeping our children safe. This is how we will be judged. And their voices should compel us to change.”
