Retired? Is Texas’ Favorite Girl Scout Cookie About to Be No More?

A lot of people experience a letdown after the Christmas and New Year's holidays are over. Those people are not in Texas. Here in the Lone Star State, we are gearing up for Mardi Gras in Houston, Beaumont, and Port Arthur.

There will be Valentine's Day celebrations in Big D, San Antonio, and Austin. And in communities large and small across Texas we are all preparing for one of the tastiest times of the year, Girl Scout Cookie time.

If ever there was an iconic cookie in Texas and the rest of the country it would probably be sold by a girl wearing green. We all have our favorite Girl Scout Cookies, don't we? The answer I hear to that question most often is Thin Mints but despite what you misguided lovers of those cookies believe, Texas has another favorite when it comes to cookies that the Girl Scouts sell.

Among the cookies your neighborhood Girl Scouts will be offering during cookie sales this year are the aforementioned Thin Mints and Louisiana's favorite the Samoas/Caramel DeLites there will be Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs and more. But two iconic cookies from the list of those being offered will only be available this year.

Those two cookie flavors will be retiring when cookie sales cease in 2025. So, if you're a fan of S'mores and Toast-Yay you might want to stock up. Our friends at the Girl Scouts reminded us to remind you that the availability of the soon-to-be-retired choices will vary depending on location.

If you want to purchase Girl Scout Cookies those sales can be arranged online or if you keep your eyes peeled you'll probably notice a Girl Scout Cookie booth popping up around some of the high-traffic shopping areas around town.
