Saints Land 6 Players In The Pro Bowl
New Orleans Saints running backs Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara have been quite the tandem this season, complimenting one another on the field each week, and afterwards in the locker room.
No running back duo in the history of the NFL has had two backs on the same team top 1500 yards from scrimmage, but the two are in line to do that this season.
Both were named to the NFC Pro Bowl roster today, marking the first time two running back teammates were selected to the NFL All-Star game in more than 42 years. (Mike Triplett of espn.com documents the history here)
It's the second Pro Bowl for Ingram, while Kamara earns a spot on the team in his rookie year, and he wasn't the only Saints rookie to make the cut.
New Orleans first round pick Marshon Lattimore also was selected to the team, along with defensive end Cameron Jordan, who will be playing in his third Pro Bowl.
Quarterback Drew Brees was named to the team as well, earning his 11th Pro Bowl selection, and 10th as a Saint, a franchise record.
His favorite target, second year wide receiver Michael Thomas, will join Brees, Ingram, Kamara, Lattimore and Jordan, earning his first Pro Bowl selection, and is the first Saints wide receiver since Joe Horn to be selected.
The Pro Bowl is scheduled to be played January 28th in Orlando, Florida at 2pm.
