The New Orleans Saints added a defensive back to their roster as training camp opened on Thursday.

The team signed veteran safety T.J. Green while waiving defensive tackle Kenny Bigelow with an injury designation and waiving receiver Chad Hansen.

A native of Sylacauga, Alabama, Green played his college football at Clemson, before being selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2016NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-3, 211-pound Green played two seasons for the Colts (2016-2017), appearing in 31 games, including 11 as a starter, compiling 85 tackles.

Released by the Colts prior to the 2018 season, Green signed with the Seattle Seahawks in October of last year, before retiring three weeks later, citing a lack of desire for the game of football.

The 24-year-old Green has played both safety positions in his brief NFL career.
