Saints WR Emmanuel Sanders Recovering from COVID-19, To Miss Bears Game
The New Orleans Saints were without its two top wide receivers last Sunday and somehow pulled out a win over the Carolina Panthers.
If the team wants to win this Sunday afternoon on the road against Chicago, it'll likely be under the same scenario.
Emmanuel Sanders will miss his second straight game after testing positive for COVID-19 last Thursday.
In an interview with Uninterrupted's 17 Weeks Podcast on SiriusXM/Pandora, Sanders revealed that his temperature got as high as 102 degrees.
He went to practice last week and ran routes, but something just didn't feel right.
"I was running, but I was exhausting so much energy into running that it felt like abnormal" Sanders said.
The Saints placed Sanders on the reserve/COVID-19 list last Thursday after he tested positive for the virus. Because he's asymptomatic positive, he has to be on the list for a minimum of 10 days.
10 days out from last Thursday would be this Sunday, the day of the Saints' game against Chicago. Additionally, though, 72 hours must have passed since Sanders last experienced symptoms before he can play though.
It appears the Saints could also be without the services of star wideout Michael Thomas another week as he continues to battle hamstring and ankle issues. He, along with rookie standout Marquez Callaway, were listed as "did not practice" by the team on Wednesday.
Whoever is out catches passes for the Saints, they'll do so this Sunday at 3:25 pm when they travel to Chicago to take on the Bears.
