Sick 11-Year-Old Organizes Massive Hospital Christmas Toy Drive
Now, this is what the Christmas season is all about.
Casey Abrams is an 11-year-old boy from suburban Los Angeles who heads a toy drive every year for sick kids.
This year, Casey delivered more than 1,000 toys to Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA.
What makes Casey's actions all the more remarkable is the fact he has a rare intestinal disease which has gotten worse as he's gotten older. He likes to bring toys to the hospital because he had life-saving surgery there when he was just a year old.
In 2008, he was in the hospital during Christmas when the lightning bolt struck him -- create a toy drive for kids. He's done it every year since.
As Casey said, "I just wanted to give back" since he had gotten toys when he was a patient there.
