
Six People Arrested In Abbeville Drug Bust
After several weeks of investigating the 100 block of Green Street in Abbeville, authorities say they have busted an organized drug crime network that was dealing crack cocaine.
The Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office says the area is known for high drug trafficking as police have raided the area for drug activity before. Police say their operation, which took place at two locations on the 100 block of Green Street, consisted of those who would deliver the suspected narcotics, those who dispersed it to runners and those runners who sold to buyers on the streets.
Six people were arrested for their roles in the alleged drug trafficking group.
21-year-old Jacado Petry of Abbeville was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute a schedule III narcotic (Hydrocodone), and conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
21-year-old Brandon Davis of Abbeville was arrested and charged with distribution of Crack Cocaine.
19-year-old Quincy Jones of Abbeville was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
23-year-old Nyles Phillips of Abbeville was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
43-year-old George Petry of Abbeville was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
18-year-old Stephain Brailey of Abbeville was arrested and charged with possession of transactions derived from drug offenses.
Along with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office, Lafayette City Police Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (S.W.A.T.) and the Abbeville Police Department patrol and detective division assisted in the investigation.
