After several weeks of investigating the 100 block of Green Street in Abbeville, authorities say they have busted an organized drug crime network that was dealing crack cocaine.

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office says the area is known for high drug trafficking as police have raided the area for drug activity before. Police say their operation, which took place at two locations on the 100 block of Green Street, consisted of those who would deliver the suspected narcotics, those who dispersed it to runners and those runners who sold to buyers on the streets.

Six people were arrested for their roles in the alleged drug trafficking group.
