With the announcement that the Festival of Lights will not take place this year, some Oil Center businesses are vowing to keep their traditions alive.

The Music Box, a private music academy in Lafayette, has announced that their traditional evening of holiday music performances, the Children's Holiday Concert Series, is set for December 6 in Lafayette's Oil Center. The evening of music is designed to showcase the children's talents, raise awareness of and money for Foster the Love, and to help ring in the holiday season by spreading Christmas cheer.

The concert series includes four mini concert sets at 5 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm, and 8 pm. Admission to the event is free, though donations to Foster the Love will be accepted to help support the foster community in Louisiana.

As part of the fundraiser, there will be a Pajama & Meal Gift Card Drive. Foster the Love accepts new pajamas for first night bags for foster children in sizes Premie to XL Adult. Meal Gift Cards can be purchased in advance from your favorite spot or at Tropical Smoothie Cafe!

Please invite friends and family to support students of The Music Box on their special evening. The stage is located at 458 Heymann Blvd (in front of Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Koi) in Lafayette's Oil Center.

Not everyone has the same level of "merry" in their Christmas. You have the power to change that. If you can't make it to the concert series, consider making a donation directly to Foster the Love.
