Some Opelousas City Employees To Be Furloughed
The spread of the coronavirus, and the ensuing pandemic has had a devastating impact in a variety of different sectors throughout Acadiana.
Now, our news partners at KATC, report that there will be a furlough of some City of Opelousas employees.
Many people can't pay their bills and Opelousas officials say there has been a decline in money coming in from sewage and water fees to the city.
This decision will mean that thirty employees will be furloughed.
The council passed the measure unanimously at a meeting that they held this morning.
