The son of a former head coach of the New Orleans Saints interviewed with the franchise on Tuesday for one of their staff openings.

The 57-year old Nolan is a former head coach himself, guiding the San Francisco 49ers to an overall record of 18-37 from 2005-2008.

After his stint with 49ers, Nolan served in the defensive coordinator position with the Denver Broncos (2009), Miami Dolphins (2010-2011), and the Atlanta Falcons 2012-2014, before most recently serving as the linebackers coach for the San Diego Chargers in 2015.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Nolan, who held the role of linebackers coach at LSU from 1985-1986, was out of football in 2016, working as an analyst on the NFL Network.

The Saints are looking to fill five staff openings, including defensive line coach, linebackers coach and special team coordinator.
