South Louisiana Communities Flooding as Hurricane Beryl Makes Landfall
Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Texas, but now some parts of South Louisiana are feeling the impacts of the storm.
Storm surge is always a concern anytime a storm enters the Gulf of Mexico, and now that Beryl has made landfall, we're beginning to see water move inland in parts of South Louisiana.
Louisiana State Police posted photos of some roadways near Holly Beach, Louisiana covered in water as water pushed inland we know that motorists should avoid some of the roads, and here are the ones to avoid:
- The Holly Beach area
- La. 82 near Holly Beach
- Davis Road
- Wakefield Road
- Little Chenier Road
- Mermentau River Road
- North Drake Road
- Les Rois Road
Here's a look at some parts of South Louisiana as Beryl moves northward and outer bands begin to move closer to the Louisiana coast.
Here's a video on LA 82 between Holly Beach and Johnson’s Bayou. As you can see debris is present on the roadway, and the conditions are very dangerous in some parts of Louisiana.
