St.Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Employee Arrested

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reports that they have arrested 25-year-old Yeron Diaz-Soler for allegedly bringing cell phones into the jail.

Diaz-Soler was arrested yesterday afternoon on charges of introduction of contraband into a penal institution and malfeasance in office.

A detective looking into how contraband was getting into the jail, says Diaz-Soler, admitted to the officer that he brought cell phones into the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville.

He was arrested, but he was later released after posting a $7,000 bond.

Diaz-Soler was assigned to the jail.
