It had been a couple of years for the St. Thomas More Cougars since they tasted a State Title but all that changed on Friday night as they absolutely dismantled the #2 seeded Cavaliers of De La Salle 58-10.

The high-powered Cougars attack was lead by MVP of the game senior quarterback Caleb Holstein who threw for five touchdown passes.

Here was his first of five scores:

Once the Cougars had a comfortable lead and the game wasn't in question, the only question was would wide receiver Jack Bech snag the MVP award for himself. Bech had himself quite the game hauling in a high number of catches to go along with lots of yardage and three receiving touchdowns. Oh, and there was him returning a punt for a score the first time STM possessed the ball to begin the second quarter. That made the game 44-3 at that point, no big deal.

However, in the end, when in doubt give the MVP to the QB but both guys certainly deserved it with Holstein even joking after receiving the award that they needed to put Jack Bech's name on there as well.

Senior running back Noah Frederick also had a solid game spearheading the Cougars ground attack as he scored two touchdowns on the ground including this powerful run early in the game.

The offense definitely deserves a lot of praise but don't forget about this defense that basically shut down a solid Cavaliers offense.

Sophomore quarterback Cole Milford was constantly under pressure and couldn't really step into many throws on this night. Also, star running back Montrell Johnson had a difficult time finding room to run.

It was simply a dominant performance all the way around and a well deserved State Title for the Cougars of St. Thomas More.
