Stolen Vehicle Returned To Northside High Teacher After Police Chase
A vehicle stolen from a Northside High teacher has been returned to its owner - but not after crashing into a ditch.
Scott Police Chief Chad Leger says one of his officers noticed the two suspects speeding as they were entering the city limits of Scott and the officer tried to get them to pull over. But the car sped up, ran a stop sign and accelerated to a speed of over 80 miles per hour. But the pair hit a curve on West Willow Street and crashed the vehicle into the ditch.
The driver, 17-year-old Isaiah Martin of Lafayette, and his juvenile passenger were then taken into custody, and after investigating, officers were able to return the vehicle back to the teacher.
Martin faces charges of Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Flight and No Driver's License while the juvenile faces a charge of Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle.
