A recent poll shows Americans overwhelmingly in favor of the federal government investing money to restore the Gulf Coast. The poll, commissioned by America's National Wetland Foundation, says over 90% of those surveyed support this idea. Spokesperson Sidney Coffee says their mission is to keep the country focused on our region, which has recently faced four major hurricanes and the BP Oil spill.

Coffee says the poll also shows that most Americans surveyed believe
the federal government should be responsible for restoring and
maintaining the health of the Mississippi River.
