Whether you like it or not the nation will be falling back one hour tonight at 2:00am.

The good news is you get an extra hour of sleep...if your body cooperates that is.

You could stay up or wake at 2:00am to set your clock back but it makes more sense to set your clock back one hour when you turn in tonight.  While setting your clocks fire officials across the country say it is a perfect time to change the batteries in your smoke detector as well.  If you follow this battery changing schedule you'll have fresh batteries every six months.  We'll return to daylight savings time on March 9, 2014.

The nationwide switch doesn't affect people in some U.S. territories, most parts of Arizona and all of Hawaii as those areas do not observe daylights saving.

Remember set your clocks and change those smoke detector batteries.
